My 2 favourite movements from the infamous Mythodea in the temple of Zeus, Athens.
The first is a song that you all know about.
Enjoy!

The concert was held within the archaeological area of the Zeus Temple in the center of Athens.
The atmosphere was ....no words to describe it:D

vangelis is good, but sometimes he is so boring that i almost fall asleep. im sure his concerts are more interesting, but as plain music without anything else, i find him somewhat overrated
he has some great pieces such as chariots of fire, conquest of paradise and even some more modern ones including electronica such as rachel's song but some of his other works are just incredibly boring (see antarctica)
if you like vangelis, you can find his better version: kitaro

Overrated, ok, cool, then him offering his song for the Olympics and the Nasa expeditions is overrayed anyway, its tue some of his songs are boring, that does not mean that the huge volume of works he has produced has been overrated.
Anyway, as a person he has written so many songs, that is actually superhuman, also a big percentage of this songs have hit the charts both in Europe and the Us and have actually stayed on top for very long periods of time.
If you want to hear something less boring, by him, try Aphrodites Child, psychedelic rock in the 70's.

the problem with him is that he is not consistent. he doesn't produce equally good stuff from album to album. anyway, as i said he does have some great songs. but i think his strong point is in the live concerts and not so in the music itself
also imo his music is not very spiritual, in contrast to yanni. vangelis is sometimes just flat
that said, i'd love to go once in one of his concerts. how much does a ticket cost?

You know what,i think the exact opposite! I find yanni very ''soft'',pop etc, while i regard Vangelis much more serious....
:D
whatever,different tastes i guess.
tickets go up from 20 euros normally, depends on the place

yanni may be soft but at least you can see there's a meaning in his music, while vangelis' songs are sometimes just sounds put together... they dont give u any impression
of course i want first place! :D

I agree with WS, i dont really like Yanni, cause he is a bit "gay", soft pop, new age.
I find Vangelis, much more powerful.
Its propably different tastes, i guess.
Anyway, the tickets from the Mythodea in Greece started at 200 Euros up to 1200 Euros.
My family was there, and they paid for 2 tickets 800 euros from the black market.
Last year for Woody Allen and his jazz band in the Megaro Mousikis, the lowest ticket was 350 Euros.
Francesca's dad(gf) paid 600 to go for himself.
And lastly, if you want to go to concerts held at the Karaiskaki stadium(Olympiakos), contact me and ill get you in the Vip's for free.
We have a Vip room booked for years, with some friends. It has the capacity of 12 people officially, but usually they dont really count., so you can fit up to 15-17, if you are lucky.
So last year, on the massive attack, we were there for free.:trampolin
