I became after being in Belgrade and witnessing it last year. :D
In any case, I am interested in everything EURO-something (kind-of too much, perhaps).
Here's "Marko Kon and Mileena" and their "Shoe".

Kind of sad and disappointing, I personally find the song quite stupid. After the "grandior" of their predecessors, most critics are also mostly very, very bad.

The song is called ''This is our night'' and it is over hyped in Greece. I do not know where all this confidence of winning stems from:roll:(ERT,The national television that is, has spent over 800k euros to promote it all over europe. Maybe that is why they have created all this hype. Waste of money in my opinion).Too cheesy for my taste. But i was never into EUROVISION after all.

Actually, Greece stands a good chance to win.
But the real winner will most probably be Norway (almost all agree):

if that's the winner then ESC will be very weak this year
it's not a bad song but not a wow song either

It is the most wow song in your entire life if you've (like I, I have no idea why don't ask me) watched/heard the others.
The only that's not too bad is Sweden.
But the Russians, their song is in my opinion absolutely horrible. And it's not supposed to be a joke, but is serious.

What I appreciate about Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, Albanian, Macedonian... participants is that they still sing in their own language (and Serbia proved in 2007 that that does not mean you get a bad score...)
But yes, Serbia's song is disappointing, a bit silly, I think Bosnia's is better.

I don't really care much for the music anymore, but I AM interested in the scores (although they take incredibly long....) because I am interested in the relations.
Sometimes I wonder : does that country get a lot of points from that country because they are "friends", or simply because of a substantial minority voting for that one particular country?
Some examples from last year's final:
Serbia to Bosnia: 12
Fyrom to Albania: 12
Fyrom to Serbia: 10
Bulgaria to Turkey: 5
Bulgaria to Greece: 10
Estonia to Russia: 12
Latvia to Russia: 12
Georgia to Armenia:12
Georgia to Russia: 8
Armenia to Georgia: 10
Does anyone have an opinion on this?

things are going really really well for us. from 150:1 two weeks ago we are now down to even something like 3:1 in some betting sites. this means that people have been massively betting for our song!
comment from AKOE (http://akoe07.livejournal.com/) (one of the most popular eurovision related web sites) before the final rehearsal:
Albania and in common with a lot of the countries that had to perform last tonight, Kejsi is off-key vocally. Nevertheless I think that once this is improved it could still be in the shake-up. Prediction 6th to 10th. Betting before the contest 147/1 it's now 63/1 meaning that it's one of the songs with the most money going on it, in recent days.
and after the rehearsal:
Albania is so good, its simply brilliant. Fantastic setting, wonderfully powerful vocals, no props just fancy dancing and costumes. Great dance beat with an eastern flair. This could seriously win you know. I can see this giving Albania their best ever result. Predict 1-6th. Reaction from the hall is immense.
vote for us or ban! :P

well they wanted to make it less neighbour-voting and they managed to do the complete opposite. at least before the songs actually ranked more or less like they should have
norway with double points from the 2nd and their song sucked balls to be honest
not gonna even bother commenting on the others. dissapointed by this set up fiasco

our final performance
qN1AW4w-JKM
i think the semi-final performance was slightly better, but the difference wasn't big enough to justify a 17th ranking. i think our song was much much better than most songs and we got robbed
thanks to our neighbours albania and bulgaria for the 12 points.....
lol sorry mate i dont see how any country (except cyprus) could give 12 points to "suckis" he was horrible. i am so ashamed :(
btw for sure the macedonian jury voted like 2 points for us, plus 12 from the audience makes it 14/2 = 7
anyway i find most of the results ridiculous. bring back the old voting system!

you are right iceland was much better than this overrated overhyped 23 year old acting like a retarded 10 year old with that trash song
if that song is so good that it deserved to get a record breaking 300+ points then im a chinese chimpanzee
i think no one will even remember his song after 2 weeks let alone that i totally dismiss his chances for a career whatsoever
this eurovision was plain stupid

if it doesn't have fruit filling and chocolate on top i dont want it :P
this was the first time that i really liked our song and honestly thought it was one of the best. the other times i thought we were not bad, ok or just decent (even when we got 7th)
this time we put more effort in it than any other time but it seems we are not liked very much. btw i dont get why we give greece every year 12 points even with such crappy songs as this one. what sort of bending over is this?
btw with this new system i think we are very disadvantaged in comparison to the earlier system. countries such as macedonia and greece will never give us top points, even if the audience vote gives us maximum i simply dont see the jury of these countries vote us in any way whatsoever
in any case i think some mistakes were made in this appearance and i hope they take note for future appearances

I liked it too, Balozo, I have downloaded 4 videos of it, but it is Eurovision, so I never expected any more fairness. As long as we are satisfied with the performance of our team, it's ok.
Balozi
Sun, 17th May 2009, 14:06:30
you are right. although our team should be more careful of what people are saying. all over the internet people were saying that something needs to be done with the green guy, maybe take his mask off or something. and it wouldn't be a bad idea if in the middle of the act kejsi somehow pulled off his mask or something. nice little surprise that would please the fans there, and i think it would look good too
we could also do better with the song in my opinion, the strong beat part is too short, they could definately keep it with a refrain or something
and the camera work was just horrible

You're right Kassandros. I also fell in love the Iceland song from the first sight. That girl could be a popstar. Today I compared Norway and Iceland songs, well that naturalized Belorussian boy is a talent too. His song was more exotic and not less as a quality. So I think it is fair.

Balozi, don't be so bitter. I am a statistics freak, so I analysed all points given by the countries - the norvegian boy was the winner by far in all possible subgroups - former yougoslavia and ussr, balkans, southeast europe, south europe, central europe etc etc.
The morning tv shows in Greece made a dirty propaganda against him - don't vote Norway, he is ugly, he is not talented, he is a bad character, he is oue ennemy and a threat for our Sakis the god - and Greece gave 12 points to UK and 10 points to Norway - and it is almost certain that the people had voted for Norway more. I have a 19 and a 15 year old son, and I know that in their environment, boys and girls ages 14-20 were loving the Norwegian song and singer.
So this specific year, the lobbys failed. The only difference in voting between northwest- southeast was that southeast voted B&H and Azerbaitzan higher than Island.
