So, the festival finished, but i'll leave with 3/4 of my favorite moments:
1. Trio Rabih Abou-Khalil & Joachim Kühn (Libano/Germany)
"Shrewd Woman"
Trio Rabih Abou-Khalil & Joachim Kühn
Rabih Abou-Khalil (libano)- oud
(the Arab short-neck lute which in the Arab world is the instrument of composition, enjoying the same overall popularity as do guitar and piano together in ours)
Joachim Kühn (german) - piano (alto saxophone)
Jarrod Cagwin (american)-percussionist
The Trio: "They perform and throw melodies at each other, reaching out to grasp them up quickly and further develop what they havecome up with.
Much like basket-ball players they dribble them around, bouncing them lightly and passing them on, quite obviously enjoying them selves while doing so."
2.TRILOK GURTU & THE MISRA BROTHERS (India)
TRILOK GURTU
this one is a Trilok Gurtu's music but in the festival he played with the
THE MISRA BROTHERS

their singing is very, very beautiful, their voices appeared to come from some other plane of existence, far removed from the material concerns of the modern world... O:-)
3.The Bad Plus (Usa)
"Smells like teen spirit"
The Bad Plus
NIRVANAfabulous
NuruKane & Bayefall Gnawa (Senegal)
"Gorée"
NuruKane & Bayefall Gnawa
unfortunatly he couldn't go
BULGARIA
Ivo Papasov & His Wedding Band
"Fairground"
Ivo Papasov & His Wedding Band
SERBIA
BORIS KOVAC & LA CAMPANELLA
"Malena"
BORIS KOVAC & LA CAMPANELLA
so, in a certain way it was a kind of voyage of discovery
ps: and it's not that far...
next July it will happen again, but i would give it one or two more years, because even with almost no publicity it's getting much too crowded
